About Meriam Njah
A Therapist in Minneapolis
Hi! I’m Meriam Njah.
I’m passionate about understanding the seemingly complex things in life, like relationships, and helping you do the same, in a way that is simple.
In particular, I have a special heart for biracial couples, and marginalized populations.
Having grown up in a first generation immigrant family, hustling and surviving often took priority on the list of things to figure out. Things like relationships, emotions, and human connection did not. And so I drawn to figure them out.
How my passion developed
My curiosity started with the basic premise of figuring out how humans work, and so I took all the classes that I was able to take, read all the books I was able to read, and took all the trainings I can afford throughout college (while collecting a few college degrees along the way) to figure it all out.
I found that most of things that I learned (such as what makes a relationship work and what doesn’t) were simple, but things that I did not know intuitively, given that I grew up without them. I was mind blown!
What I learned
Naturally, I thought I was the only one who had to collect a few college degrees to understand these basic things (hello shame!) but after a while, I realized that a lot of my friends, and the people that I was around, had a similar experience.
I found that a lot of people struggling in their relationships just needed a basic understanding of these simple things that a lot of us did not grow up with.
That sometimes therapy was needed, but sometimes it was much simpler than that.
How I help others
So, I took my personal, and professional experience (along with my professional training), and designed a simple experience that can help you understand your relationship, and the simple steps you can make to take it to the next level. No therapy jargon, promise!
I am most passionate about empowering couples to understand the simple pieces that it takes to make their relationship work.
